What is an LCD television?
LCD stands for liquid crystal display. Since electric currents cause light crystals to change shape they can act as light valves. When this happens, the television can show a grayscale or black and white image. Color is added by using mirrors to split the light coming through the liquid crystal to split into red, green, or blue beams. A lens takes in all three colors and projects them onto the screen – and you have a color LCD television.
